BOOKSHARE​

Bookshare website

​This is a free text to speech program that is available for students reading below grade level or has been diagnosed with Dyslexia and that they require print support is indicated on their IEP.

Textbooks and novels can be added to the students Bookshare student account so that they can access the content for learning.  Learn more about how Bookshare works on our AT Digital Tools page.

Case managers can request A Bookshare account for eligible student on the Assistive Technology Support Request form on the MDUSD Staff Portal.




LEARNING ALLY

Learning Ally Website
 This is a text to speech program that is available for students reading below grade level or has been diagnosed with Dyslexia or print support is indicated on their IEP.  

​Textbooks and novels can be added to the students Learning Ally student  account so that they can access the content for learning.   Learn more about how Bookshare works on our AT Digital Tools page.

READ&WRITE 

Read&Write website
This Chrome extension is  intuitive and easy-to-use, Read&Write for Google Chrome™ provides personalized support to make documents, web pages and common file types in Google Drive (including: Google Docs, & PDF) more accessible. It’s designed to help everyone engage with digital content in a way that suits the student's abilities and learning styles.

KAMI


The video on the right will show you how to use the Kami Chrome extension with students who need support with writing production.

NOTE:  Case managers can request that this chrome extension be set up for students using the AT Service request form on the MDUSD Staff Portal.

kami pro

Kami Pro is for students who require text to speech support.  This level of Kami will also provide text to speech support on PDFs the student must read.
​The video on the right will help you to understand how to use Kami Pro to read PDFs for students.​

NOTE: Case Managers can set up a  student account for Kami Pro using the AT Service request form on the MDUSD Staff Portal.
